School Buildings
These are the academic buildings where you'll probably spend most of your time:
- [1] Undergraduate Centre (UG) – Home to many lecture halls and student services. Most of your Bachelors level lectures and exercise sessions will be held here.
- [30] Computer Science Building (CS) – This is where most of your programming-esque course lectures and lab sessions will be held.
- [37] Maarintie 8 (TUAS) – Engineering-focused, often used by IEM and ELEC students; however, you’ll likely have some courses here as well.
- [15] Harald Herlin Learning Centre – Aalto’s library with quiet zones, and printers. Many a study session will be held here 😊

Teekkari Culture & Student Events
These places host student parties, sitsits, and events:
- [44] Smökki (Servin Mökki) – AYY’s event venue in the heart of Teekkari Village.
- [19] Dipoli – Aalto’s main building and event space (also houses conferences and parties).
- [1] Amphitheatre (Amphi) – The starting point for many events.
- [45] Rantasauna – A lakeside sauna students can rent or visit during events.

- 📖 [15] Harald Herlin Learning Centre – Bottom floor incredible for group study, top floor for quiet individual lock-in sessions.
- 💬 [1] Student Hub (Undergraduate Centre) – Lounge-style, ideal for group work or individual work.
- 🪴 [30] Greenhouse (CS Building) – Warm, cozy but unfortunately does not have plants 🤨
- CS-building in general also contains many reservable rooms.
- 💡 [6] Design Factory – For project work and creative vibes.
- 🚀 Startup Sauna – Open co-working area with a tech/startup vibe.
- 💼 [68] Business Hub – Feels like an airport waiting lounge. Great for both individual study and group work.

Teekkari Village (Teekkarikylä) – Housing Teekkaris since 1952! It is composed of the following streets:
- Jämeräntaival (JMT)
- Servin Maijan tie (SMT)
- Servinkuja
- Otaranta

Transportation & Getting Around
Otaniemi is super well connected!
- Metro – Aalto University Station (right next to the campus!)
- Buses – Many bus lines serve Otaniemi from Helsinki, Espoo & Vantaa.
- Tram – Tram 15 goes by Otaniemi, takes you all the way to east Helsinki
Pro Tip: You can reach the center of Helsinki in ~11 minutes by metro.

Other Important Buildings
- [38] AYY: This is where you pick up AYY keys, and discuss other housing matters in person. Also home to the student union and their board.
- [67] Väre – Where the School of Arts, Design and Architecture is located. Also houses Aalto University Shop and the A Bloc entrance.
- [71] Marsio – A newer multi-disciplinary building near Väre.

Health, Sports & Free Time
- [28] UniSport Otaniemi – Gym, group classes, and ball sports. Student-friendly pricing!
- Sports Field – For track and field, football, and other outdoor sports.
- Calisthenics Park – Next to the sports field, free to use.
- Padel & Tennis Courts – Booking required via Pleimore Padel or Espoon kaupunki, respectively.
- Otaranta Waterfront – Great for walks, runs, and summer swimming.
- Alvarin Aukio (Alvar’s Square) – huge field where most of Otaniemi’s large outdoor events happen!
- Volleyball courts — Next to Smökki (booking via AYY Tila) and in Miinusmaa.
- Basketball courts — Hoops in the parking lot next to Otakaari 8.
- OtaPuutarha — Urban gardening plots in Otaniemi which need to be applied for via Otaniemien kaupunkiviljely-yhdistys
- Skate park — Next to Ossinlampi.
